what implications!

this goodman duo suddenly realized it might be a teeny bit tricky to perform our pairs ice routine with a third member. do they even let trios perform at the olympics? no sir, they do not. so we are curious to see how this will play out as we "skate through life." (i know you are rolling your eyes - that is okay. it is a terrible, terrible metaphor.)

okay, all this to say, we are trying to decide on something special to do this weekend! because it will be our last weekend together with just the two of us! (most likely!) we might:

*go to devil's lake and have a picnic (never been there!) (and you can go and not really hike right? right?)

*go to a haunted house! spoooooooooooky! i said to matt, what if i get scared and i go into labor? and he said "that'd be awesome!" (he is antsy for the little guy to arrive -- we ate very spicy food last night and he didn't even want me to drink milk, for fear that ... oh, i don't know, something about capseasin (sp?) counterreacting something, rendering the plan inutil?)

*go to an apple orchard and maybe ride a hayride and maybe go in a corn maze and maybe have cider?

*go to that cave where you get to paddle around in a canoe and duck under the stalagmites. (or is it the stalagtites?) okay we probably won't do that because i don't know where it is and i probably shouldn't be climbing down into a cave. i know, i know...

i think that's it. what do you think we should do? or do you have some other suggestion? do tell!

wow megan, you are so fast. how did you do that???

hmm. i personally would like him to wait until monday. of course, he's not supposed to be here really until the 14th so maybe we'll end up with 2 weekends? who knows? i hope he's here soon enough so we can take him out in nice weather - this state is so very temperamental you know. his halloween costume is warm though -- can't wait to take him trick-or-treating! (i don't mean to sound like a total idiot but can you face-paint a baby's face? not that his current costume needs face paint but can you? 'cause i do have another idea in mind for the costume party...)oh no i've said too much. now peoples' "they are so not ready to have a baby" radars are beeping like crazy.

Jenny, you are so funny =P . I couldn't say for sure, but I have a feeling you shouldn't paint a baby's face when he's < 1 month old. That would be really cute, though! He he.
As to what you could do this weekend, Devil's Lake and the apple orchard sound so nice! Maybe I'll steal your idea and find out if there is an apple orchard near here... =)

Hmmmm.....I say the apple orchard and the corn maze, because it would be tres cool to have a baby inside a corn maze if you had to. Then you could make his middle name Maze.

I still like the cave idea, though, too, because if you had him down there, you could name him Bruce Wayne Goodman.

jenny!!!!!!! no, you CANNOT paint a newborn's face!!!! oh no!!!!! and devil's lake is too far! what if you went into labor there and then you would really be in trouble. i think apple orchards and hayrides are very fun. or you could go to a nearby state park and pack a very nice picnic.... or you could find a concert to go to because that's probably something you won't be doing for a while! :)

by the way.... i'm sure it's a pun, but i don't get it... bruce wayne??

stalagtites is what you would be canoeing over, because they have to hang on to the roof tight, as compared to the stalagmites, which just take a small might to stand on the floor....

There are 2 really nice apple orchards out by our house in Darboy. I think they have hayrides and everything. Aaron and I went to them last year and the carmel apples and cider were de'lish!

Go to a movie! We haven't been to one in so long. It probably sounds like a boring idea- but you can do many of the outdoors things with a baby. He will enjoy the apple orchards or a small hike at a state park. Avery went to Devil's Lake when he was 4 weeks old. How far are you from there? Scott and I thought we only had 1 weekend left before Avery was born, but we ended up with 3 since he was late! Have fun and enjoy having a peaceful, uninterrupted conversation with one another!

matt and jenny,
it's so fun to read up on your lives!!! i miss you guys! and i can't wait to meet the little guy (as soon as he comes!) what's matt's new job?

are you in appleton, neenah, menasha?

The Goodfellas said...

ahem, *someone* refuses to watch batman begins. tsk tsk tsk to whomever that may be.

ps. beth! glad to hear from you! we are in kaukauna -- when you come to the fox valley you should come on by.

as for matt's job:
he works at a box-making company! they make boxes for other companies to ship their boxes in. to me it sounds like a dilbert strip but thus far matt's tie remains uncurled.

I know it's no longer Saturday, but may I suggest trampoline basketball some evening this week?

TRAMPOLINE BASKETBALL!! That's what I keep telling her. And she refuses to jump rope, so I don't know how she expects this boy to come out. Geez Louise.

We ended up doing a few things off the list... it was fun.. We did end up going to a haunted house in Green Bay. It was really fun. maybe a very little too expensive, but really fun. And spoOoOoOoOoky. And on sunday we got over to an orchard, although, they had no hayride, and we didn't spring for the applecider. The Carmel Apples, however, were incredible. Best carmel I've ever tasted in my life. IN my life. Oh my goodness. So all in all, we had a great weekend. It was very relaxing, and very fun. !
