the house!

let's be honest here: it's probably still got hobos in the basement, and i can only assume that the panther still prowls at night. and yet! it's just about the best house in the world.
ps. click on the picture! no link set up, it's just funny!

That doesn't look funny, it looks like some crazed man is trying to knock Matt off the ladder!

No Mark, don't do it!! Jenny, never ever go to the basement alone and never never ever ever go outside in the dark alone. ;) Hobos and panthers and shadows oh my!! My guess is that the hobos are probably gone by now (unless you've found more mysterious food wrappers behind the furnace?!), but I'm not so sure about that panther.....!! :)

we took lucas down to the pasture the other day and tried to find the smallpox house and the horse burial site and some indian mounds (are there indian mounds?) but i was a bit foggy as to where things were. maybe lucas will need a guided tour by some experts... :)

and oh yes, i have certainly found some mysterious food wrappers. a can of baked beans, with the lid hacked off by a pocketknife, i'm almost sure of it. definite sign of a hobo.

and.... i'm not even kidding here... matt thought he heard a panther the other night. !!!

Oh, I'll be happy to show you the site of the famous dig. As for Matt maybe hearing the panther, it does sound somewhat similar to a lady screaming - maybe it was just Betty running from Glen? And the hacked-open can of beans? Possibly a sign of a hobo, but I think they were more into high sugar snacks if I remember correctly. A Twinkie wrapper would leave no doubt that they're back.

Your dad's face is priceless! Up close, the whole thing looks like a magazine add (not sure what for, but it's great)!

Have you checked the attic? Some guy in London recently found 16 Croatians living in his attic, munching his food and sleeping on mattresses.

What's a smallpox house and why do you want to find it? Bart says that maybe when you find it you can celebrate with e-coli burgers? Horse burial grounds? What are Indian mounds? Panthers? Wisconsin is a strange and foreign land to us! We do, however, understand hobos.

By the way, Bart thinks that it wasn't Croatians in the attic but Chechnians. Either way, it was a whole bunch of homeless Eastern Europeans living in someone's attic.

celebrating with e-coli burgers sounds like a great time!!! ;D oh my. the smallpox house is this ... well, i guess it's like it sounds. this family had small pox and so they ... hmm. i'm not sure i know. all i know is there's a house that was abandoned due to smallpox and buried, and when you find it, you can dig things up. an archaeological site, right there in the pasture! there is all this lore about the house/land where we're living now... sometime (on a dark, spooky night) i will have to tell you all of it. :)
as for the croatins or chechens, i can only ask, where do you two get your news??? i am so glad i have such a wonderful eastern-bloc connection. :)

Well, I think we got the exotic Chechen news from Foxnews.com. Sadly, we didn't get to use our connections for that one!
